1. AIMS AND MEANS

Article 1
The Balkan Society for Hematology is a non-governmental organization with the following aims: a) To study matters regarding the morbidity and the prophylactic and curative attitude towards diseases specific to the Balkan region and to support the promotion and development of the best measures on the regional level with a view of ensuring the highest level of health care for the peoples in this region.

b) To facilitate contact between doctors, to promote their scientific activity, to increase medical networking and to strengthen relations of friendship between them.

c) To forge a humanitarian medical conscience among the members of The Balkan Society of Hematology under the motto:

HEALTH - FRIENDSHIP - PEACE

d) To promote Balkan cooperation in the field of medicine, within the framework of the cooperation between the countries and the peoples of the Balkan region, of Europe and of other countries in the world, with the aim of strengthening friendship and cooperation, observing the human rights according to the Final Acts of Helsinki and Paris.

Article 2
The Balkan Society for Hematology shall have the following means of action:
a) To organize scientific meetings: medical weeks, medical days, specialization courses and training courses, conferences, symposia, research teams, clinical meetings, etc. within the general framework of continuous medical education,

b) To carry on scientific activity in the field of fundamental and applied medical research as well as trials and scientific research in the field of fundamental and applied medicine and pharmacy,

c) To organize visits, lectures by visiting professors, fellowships, publications, etc.

d) To publish journals, bulletins, books, leaflets, etc.

e) To award prizes, medals, honorary titles, etc.

The means of action shall not be limited to items a-e.
