2. MEMBERSHIP
Article 3
a) The Balkan Society for Hematology is the organized form of cooperation between the national societies of Balkan medical cooperation. Consequently, it shall be made up from the representatives of these societies and from the representatives of their associate members.
b) The Balkan Society for Hematology shall admit in an honorary capacity Presidents, Honorary members, Professors emeritus, Full members, Corresponding members and Associate members.
Article 4
The presidents, the honorary members of The Balkan Society for Hematology and the Professors emeritus shall be elected by the General Council of The Balkan Society for Hematology from the old members, the presidents and other personalities who have rendered significant services for the fulfilment of the aims of The Balkan Society for Hematology. The former presidents and the former general secretaries of The Balkan Society for Hematology shall rightfully become Honorary members.
Article 5
The Full members and the Corresponding members of The Balkan Society for Hematology shall be elected from the doctors and other specialists (pharmacists, chemists, biologists, etc.) who work in medical facilities in the Balkan countries and have had a significant contribution to the development of the activity of The Balkan Society for Hematology.
Article 6
All the categories of members from the Balkan countries form a NATIONAL SOCIETY (BRANCH). Every National Society (Branch) is set up based on its own options and is managed by a General Meeting of the members which shall be convened every four (4) years.
A committee of the Society (Branch) elected by the General Meeting shall manage the Society (Branch) between two meetings of the General Meeting.
Article 7
Every National Society (Branch) shall draw up its own Statute and Regulations according to the specific conditions of every country, taking into account the present Statute and the other Regulations adopted by the General Council.
The National Society (Branch) may have subsidiaries in the counties, regions, departments, etc. set up according to the Regulations of the respective National Society (Branch).
Article 8
The Associate members of The Balkan Society for Hematology may become members of the organizations or institutions cooperating with The Balkan Society for Hematology or with other specialists from non-Balkan countries who are interested in and wish to participate in the activity of The Balkan Society for Hematology.
Associate members can set up a committee of the Associate members which shall represent them at the reunions of the General Council of The Balkan Society for Hematology in an advisory capacity.
