    4. SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY AND PUBLICATIONS

    Article 13
    The Balkan Medical Week is the main scientific meeting which, in principle, shall be held every two years, during the months of May or September.
    The expenses for organizing the Balkan Medical Week shall be supported by the National Society (Branch) where the Balkan Medical Week shall be held, together with the contribution of all the National Societies, which shall be set through a protocol drawn up by the General Secretariat of the Balkan Society for Hematology.

    Article 14
    The Balkan Medical Days shall be typically held every two years, alternately with the Balkan Medical Weeks, during the months of May or September.
    The expenses for organizing the Balkan Medical Days shall be supported according to Article 13 of the Statute of the Balkan Society for Hematology.

    Article 15
    The International Specialization and Training Courses shall fall into two categories:
    a) Specialization Courses on "Medical Updates" particularly devoted to topical subjects from the main domains of medicine;
    b) Training Courses devoted to one or more medical objects having a common theme (one subject, several specialities),
    c) The International Specialization or Training Courses shall basically be devoted to one subject, forming work groups of about 50-100 persons within the framework of continuous medical education and in periodical cycles. The Agenda of the courses may include round tables, conferences, workshops, clinical or practical meetings etc.
    In general, they shall be organized with the scientific and financial cooperation
    of a medical organization or institution, either in a country where there is an organization or institution cooperating with the Balkan Society for Hematology, or in a Balkan country.

    Article 16
    The publications of the Balkan Society for Hematology are the following:
    The magazine "The Archives of the Balkan Society for Hematology". The Bulletins of the Balkan Society for Hematology. The yearly book.

    a) "The Archives of the Balkan Society for Hematology" shall publish the papers delivered at the scientific meetings organized by the Society, under the title of "Collection of the Scientific Meetings" and other articles requested by the General Secretariat. Taking into account the large expenses incurred for the multiplication and dissemination of The Archives of the Balkan Society for Hematology, the General Secretariat shall regulate the system with the help of the Chairman of the Financial Committee of the Balkan Society for Hematology. The conclusions shall be submitted for approval to the General Council.

    b) The papers shall be published 'in extenso', in shortened form or in summary, taking into account the Regulations of the respective scientific meeting and the availability of space in the magazine. They are to be selected and recommended to the central editorial staff of national editors and of executives of the scientific committees of the respective meeting. The papers that were published in the abstract volumes shall be eventually listed or mentioned with their titles.
