5. FINANCES
Article 17
The activities of The Balkan Society for Hematology shall be financed through the regular subscription fees of its members, the attendance fees for its scientific meetings and the contributions of non-member public organizations.
a) The annual subscription fees are set by the General Council with a view of ensuring the activity of the General Secretariat, the publications etc.
b) 50% of the subscription fees may be withheld by the Branches charging them based on receipts delivered by the General Secretariat,
c) The attendance fees for the scientific meetings shall be used by the organizing committees of the respective scientific meeting.
d) The subscription fees shall be paid by the members, respectively the National Societies and the Committee of Associate members, in an amount to be set by the General Council every two years. The members who do not pay their subscription fees over a three-year period shall be crossed out from the yearly book and shall stop receiving the publications. The budget of the National Societies is independent from the budget of the Balkan Society for Hematology; the use of the budget of the National Society shall be decided by the 'General Meeting of every Society with a view of supporting its own working programme.
Article 18
a) In order to support the activity of the General Secretariat, the yearly subscription fees of the National Branches shall be set by the General Council, based on the number of members and the financial capacity of every National Branch. The expenses shall be checked by the General Secretariat.
b) An international financial board shall be designated by the General Council. It shall be made up of 2-3 members and one Chairman elected by the General Council; they shall be elected from the National Branches contributing effectively to the operation expenses of the Balkan Society for Hematology. A Financial Report shall be submitted by the Chairman of the Financial Board, which shall meet whenever it is necessary, as well as before every meeting of the General Council, to which it shall submit its conclusions and minutes.
c) The General Council may decide on other forms of yearly contributions from the National Branches with a view of supporting the activity of the General Secretariat (additional yearly subscription fee from every Branch, according to the case and the membership, etc.).
